The U.S. judge ends Amazon’s challenge to a $10 billion cloud contract after Pentagon cancellation

The U.S. Judge dismissed Amazon.com’s legal challenge to the Defence Department’s 2019 Decision to award a $10 billion JEDI cloud computing project to challenge Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) after Pentagon canceled the contract.

The deal was a huge setback for another top bidder. The pentagon unreasonably judges its cloud service and Microsoft’s proposals. Amazon.com had blamed Donald Trump, president, for claiming that the former president used improper pressure on the military officials to steer the contract away from amazon. It was expected the multi-billion dollar contract would be split between Amazon and Microsoft.

 Trump publicly challenged amazon CEO jeff Bezos and amazon company repeatedly criticized the company amazon had sorted  the question in the contract decision with  Trump.

 The Pentagon hopes to have the first award for its new Joint Warfighter Cloud Capability (JWCC).

John Sherman, chief information officer for the defense department, said he expects b, Microsoft and Amazon will get cloud contracts,

Microsoft said that the company was confident and it will continue to be successful as the DoD is the partner for new work.

Amazon web service cloud unit said they agreed with the decision to cancel the contract. As the initial award was not a favorable proposal but a result of outside influence that has no place for government interference.
