The Chinese tech giant Huawei will continue to invest in Saudi Arabia, President Yi says

President for the Middle East and Central Asia, Steven Yi, has confirmed the Huawei company’s commitment to invest in Saudi Arabia and support the growth of local professionals in the field of ICT. Speaking at the 2023 Middle East and Central Asia Annual Meeting Awards Giving Ceremony held in Riyadh, Yi emphasised Huawei’s continued commitment to building a connected and intelligent world and inspiring its partners to provide high-quality services to their customers.

The meeting, which brought together Huawei representatives from 21 countries, focused on aligning the company’s objectives for 2023 and recognising the achievements of staff members who have made exceptional contributions to driving business objectives and delivering superior customer experiences.

The event was attended by Haytham Al Ohali, Vice Minister in the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Saudi Arabia, who praised the partnership between the private and public sectors, citing its role in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s ICT capabilities in support of Vision 2030. He expressed confidence that the collaboration between Huawei and the Saudi government would strengthen the kingdom’s competitiveness and help to develop its digital economy.

Yi also noted that Huawei is keen on expanding its regional management functions in Saudi Arabia and is committed to complying with the country’s laws and regulations. Huawei’s involvement in the event marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time that Huawei CEOs and regional management teams from 21 countries had gathered in Riyadh. The ME&CA Annual Meeting and Awards Giving Ceremony concluded a highly successful year for Huawei in the region.
