Spout Unveils Revolutionary Appliance That Converts Air into Pure Drinking Water

California-based company Spout has introduced a groundbreaking countertop appliance capable of transforming air humidity into drinking water. Utilizing NASA-inspired technology, the device generates up to 7.5 liters of water daily by extracting moisture from the air through a ceramic honeycomb wheel embedded with zeolites.

“The ceramic honeycomb is a marvel of molecular engineering,” said Spout CEO and co-founder Reuben Vollmer. The wheel absorbs water molecules from the air and releases them as liquid through a condensation process.

Compact at 38 centimeters tall, the device fits seamlessly on kitchen countertops and can fill a 500-milliliter bottle in approximately 90 minutes under average conditions. Spout works best in environments with a minimum air humidity of 20%, although optimal results are achieved at 40% or higher.

The appliance produces 99% pure water free from PFAS, lead, and microplastics, re-mineralizing it with nanoceramic filtration technology inspired by NASA. In addition to generating water, Spout also purifies surrounding air using a two-layer filtration system.

According to third-party testing by SimpleLab, Spout’s water purity scored an impressive 98 out of 99, making it approximately 230% purer than the average U.S. tap water.

Designed to reduce reliance on plastic bottles, Spout aligns with global efforts to combat water scarcity and sustainability challenges, with projections indicating a global freshwater supply deficit by 2030.
