SPARK is accelerating international growth by strengthening ties with Europe’s innovation and business ecosystems. As part of this effort, senior leadership held high-level discussions with European Union ambassadors. These talks aimed to unlock new opportunities across technology, research, and industry.
During the meetings, discussions focused on innovation, digital transformation, emerging technologies, and sustainable development. Moreover, the dialogue emphasized the importance of linking Sharjah’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem with established European research and commercial networks. As a result, the engagements laid the groundwork for deeper cross-border cooperation.
Joining the Enterprise Europe Network
Following these engagements, SPARK announced its accession to the Enterprise Europe Network as an International Network Partner. Notably, it became the first entity from the UAE to join the network in this capacity. Consequently, this move is expected to strengthen UAE–EU cooperation while supporting SMEs and startups seeking access to the EU Single Market of more than 450 million consumers.
The Enterprise Europe Network operates as the world’s largest SME support platform. It connects around 600 organizations across more than 50 countries. In addition, over 3,000 experts assist businesses through the network, helping them scale and collaborate internationally.
Driving innovation and sustainable growth
Meanwhile, the discussions explored opportunities for joint projects, startup support, and broader collaboration in emerging technologies and research and development. Furthermore, participants examined potential engagement in programs such as Horizon Europe. Overall, the visit highlighted a growing partnership between the UAE and the EU, driven by shared priorities in innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement.
