Space42 Unveils UAE’s First Sovereign Mobility Cloud

Space42 unveils UAE Sovereign Mobility Cloud

Space42 has announced the launch of the UAE’s first Sovereign Mobility Cloud, developed on Core42’s Sovereign Public Cloud powered by Microsoft Azure. The initiative, unveiled during the Dubai World Congress, merges Space42’s expertise in autonomous mobility with Microsoft’s advanced cloud and logistics tools. It is designed to speed up the deployment of autonomous mobility solutions while ensuring all data is securely hosted in the UAE and fully compliant with national regulations.

The Sovereign Mobility Cloud will provide trusted infrastructure for mobility data and autonomous systems. It will support critical platforms including high-definition mapping, telematics, fleet operations, traffic management, and digital twins. Moreover, the platform will enable secure data sharing across government, industry, and research stakeholders, creating a foundation for smart and connected transport systems.

Scaling Through Partnerships and Ecosystem Development

As a next step, Space42 plans to work with UAE transport authorities to establish regulatory sandboxes, test hubs, and reference deployments. This approach will allow global automotive, technology, and academic partners to collaborate and expand the mobility ecosystem. Additionally, Space42 will lead application deployment, coordinate with regulators, and promote adoption through pilots, demonstrations, and commercial rollouts.

Microsoft and Core42 will provide the sovereign cloud foundation, leveraging AI platforms, regional infrastructure, and robust governance frameworks to maintain compliance and data residency. Microsoft will also contribute co-investment, technical expertise, and training programs to help scale the ecosystem, ensuring both innovation and security evolve together.

Advancing Autonomous Mobility in the UAE

The Sovereign Mobility Cloud reflects a broader vision to position the UAE as a leader in intelligent mobility. Building on previous collaborations, such as the Map Africa Initiative launched in July 2025, Space42 continues to strengthen its geospatial and AI capabilities. Its geospatial AI platform, GIQ, is already available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, further expanding its reach.

Since 2021, Space42’s TXAI autonomous mobility service has achieved nearly 600,000 km of safe driving and over 20,000 passenger trips without incident. Its fleet now operates across Saadiyat, Yas, Al Maryah, and Al Reem Islands, as well as Abu Dhabi Airport. By integrating HD mapping, AI-powered fleet operations, and digital twins, Space42 is building the backbone of intelligent transport while aligning with global best practices and prioritising safety.
