Indian IT services firm Sonata Software NSE -0.62 % Ltd. is acquiring Encore Software to strengthen its geographic presence stateside. The US-based IT company provides user experience, data Insights, and real-time collaboration services to clients in the healthcare, logistics, and independent software vendor sectors.
The acquisition gives Sonata access to an experienced leadership team that’s based in the United States and adds significant capability to its platformation-led digital transformation strategy. The deal also gives the Indian company an entry into new verticals like healthcare and logistics and reinforces its independent software vendor and Microsoft-led cloud businesses.
“This is a continuation of our M&A strategy focusing on strategic acquisitions aligned to our platformation-led digital transformation strategy, access to seasoned local leadership talent, and entry into new industry verticals. We are excited to welcome the Encore team to the Sonata family,” said Srikar Reddy, chief executive of Sonata Software.
Set up in 1998, Encore Software Services is headquartered in San Jose, California, with a development center in Chennai, India.
“We are excited to join the Sonata family, we see great synergies that will help scale our business offering new digital services and lead to opportunities for our people,” Encore co-founders Muralee Bhaskar and Radha Krishnan said in a statement. “Sonata’s platformation strategy will allow us to become more strategic to our clients and allow us to serve them with a greater set of capabilities.”
