H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the MGX Board of Directors, presided over the company’s final Board meeting for 2024. The meeting focused on reviewing MGX’s performance and outlining its strategic direction in line with the UAE’s broader goals for technological leadership.
During the session, Sheikh Tahnoon emphasized the UAE’s ambition to lead in the global technological arena, underlining the importance of sustainability and competitiveness as key drivers for the country’s success. His Highness reaffirmed the UAE’s vision to position itself as a global hub for science, technology, and innovation.
Sheikh Tahnoon also discussed the critical role of empowering national talent and supporting the growth of technology developers, entrepreneurs, and emerging companies. This is in line with the country’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives, which aim to strengthen its position in the future economy.
“MGX is advancing steadily according to its strategic plans to become one of the world’s leading companies driving technological transformation globally,” said Sheikh Tahnoon. He also highlighted MGX’s significant investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and advanced technologies, which are intended to enhance human well-being, improve the quality of life, and contribute to a prosperous future globally.
The meeting was attended by several key board members, including Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Vice Chairman of MGX, and Ahmed Yahya Al Idrisi, Managing Director and CEO of MGX. The Board reviewed the company’s commercial and financial performance for 2024, as well as evaluated existing investments and approved new investments in AI infrastructure and advanced technologies.

MGX, established in March 2024 by the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC) in Abu Dhabi, is focused on shaping and implementing policies related to AI and advanced technology in the Emirate.
