The strategy aligns with the leadership’s vision to position Dubai as a global benchmark in the digital sector.

During his visit to the headquarters of Digital Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan received updates on the progress of various initiatives and projects. He acknowledged Dubai’s previous digital milestones, including the establishment of the region’s first e-government in 2001, the smart government initiative in 2013, and the subsequent government-wide digital transformation, which achieved the elimination of paper transactions by the end of 2021. These accomplishments paved the way for Dubai’s new Digital Strategy, which aims to solidify the city’s position as the world’s digital capital.

Dubai’s Digital Strategy encompasses seven key pillars: digital city, digital economy, data and statistics, digital talent, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital competitiveness. The strategy aims to digitalize all aspects of life in Dubai, enhance the digital economy, promote digital well-being, achieve top rankings in the United Nations’ Local Online Service Index, and launch 50 high-impact, seamless, and interconnected digital city experiences. Furthermore, the strategy aims to equip over 50,000 professionals with advanced digital qualifications.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the importance of achieving targets such as the digitization rate of government services reaching 99.5%, 100% achievement of the paperless government objective, and 87% of total government service transactions being conducted digitally. He emphasized the need for collaboration and integration among all stakeholders to drive a transformative shift in embracing technological advancements.

The Crown Prince expressed confidence in the Dubai Government team and their capabilities. He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination among various entities, listening to customer needs, and keeping pace with evolving technologies.
