Saudi Arabia’s HUMAIN Unveils HUMAIN Chat, Advancing Arabic-First AI
Saudi Arabia’s HUMAIN, a global artificial intelligence company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has launched HUMAIN Chat, its Arabic conversational AI app. Powered by ALLAM 34B, HUMAIN’s flagship Arabic large language model, the release marks a major step in sovereign AI that balances cultural depth, linguistic equity, and global competitiveness.
At launch, HUMAIN Chat is available only in Saudi Arabia. However, regional rollout across the Middle East and eventual global expansion are planned. The app will be accessible on web, iOS, and Android.
In a statement, the company explained: “HUMAIN Chat is built for the more than 400 million Arabic speakers and 2 billion Muslims worldwide who have been underserved by generative AI. For the first time, people can create, learn, and connect in their own language, culture, and context.”
Cultural and Technological Significance
HUMAIN Chat follows the UAE’s Falcon Arabic, launched earlier this year by Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). While Falcon sought to capture the linguistic diversity of the Arab world, HUMAIN emphasizes deep integration with Islamic values and heritage.

The app addresses a long-standing gap in digital inclusion by enabling linguistic equality. It generates culturally intelligent responses rooted in Arabic language, values, and history.

Built for the Arabic-Speaking World
Independent testing by Cohere confirmed that ALLAM 34B is the most advanced Arabic large language model created in the Arab world. Moreover, it improves with user engagement.
Arabic-first by design, but fully bilingual in English, the model was trained on one of the largest Arabic datasets ever assembled. It was further refined by more than 600 domain experts and 250 evaluators. This process ensured unmatched fluency and alignment with Islamic, Middle Eastern, and cultural nuance.
The development team included over 120 AI specialists, among them 35 PhD holders, with an equal gender ratio. The company emphasized: “As with all large language models, the more they are used, the smarter and more capable they become.
