Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 Ultra, its next premium flagship, focusing on refining features rather than radical changes. The phone will keep the same 6.9-inch display as its predecessor but will offer slimmer bezels. This change promises a more immersive viewing experience. Additionally, Samsung decided to keep the S Pen after testing showed its importance to users. On the back, the phone will move away from the bulky camera rings to a cleaner, more seamless design.
Upgraded Camera and Powerful Processor
A standout feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its upgraded camera setup. It will sport a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, supported by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. Moreover, the 3x telephoto camera has been enhanced to 12MP. Samsung is also introducing a new laser autofocus system and ProVisual Engine, which will significantly improve photo quality, especially in low-light conditions.
Under the hood, the phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip globally, marking the end of Exynos variants for this model. Built on a 3nm process, this chip may include a special “For Galaxy” performance boost. To manage heat effectively, Samsung is upgrading the cooling system with a larger vapor chamber for better efficiency and performance.
Enhanced Performance and Expected Launch
All Galaxy S26 Ultra models, whether 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, will feature 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking even at the base level. Although Samsung has not officially announced the launch date, the phone is expected to debut during the upcoming Unpacked Event scheduled for this month.
With these improvements, the Galaxy S26 Ultra looks set to be a strong successor to the S25 Ultra, offering enhanced design, camera capabilities, and overall performance.
