Salesforce announced the newest version of its AI agent platform as it seeks to attract enterprises to its expanding software ecosystem. The upgraded platform, named Agentforce 360, was revealed ahead of the company’s annual Dreamforce conference, set to begin on October 14.

Agentforce 360 introduces multiple improvements, including enhanced text-based instructions for AI agents, a unified tool for building and deploying agents, and updated infrastructure for messaging app Slack. One of the platform’s key innovations is Agent Script, a prompting tool launching in beta this November. It allows users to program AI agents with “if/then” logic for better adaptability during unpredictable interactions such as customer service queries.

Additionally, users can now leverage “reasoning” models designed to process information before responding, rather than relying solely on pattern recognition. These reasoning agents are powered by leading AI developers.

New Tools and Slack Integration

Alongside these updates, Salesforce introduced Agentforce Builder, a tool that enables users to build, test, and deploy AI agents within a single environment. This feature, also releasing in beta in November, includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-level app vibe coding tool unveiled earlier this month.

The company further expanded integration between Agentforce and Slack. Core applications such as Agentforce Sales, IT, and HR will now appear directly within Slack, beginning this month and extending through early 2026. Slack is also piloting an upgraded version of Slackbot, designed to act as a personalized AI assistant that learns user preferences and delivers insights proactively.

Looking ahead, Salesforce aims to transform Slack into an enterprise search hub by connecting it with major productivity platforms such as Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox, with connectors expected in early 2026. These updates collectively position the company to compete more aggressively in the fast-evolving AI enterprise market.

Growing Competition in Enterprise AI

The release of Agentforce 360 arrives amid intensifying competition in the enterprise AI landscape. Several major technology players are launching new AI tools for large-scale business applications. For instance, Google recently introduced Gemini Enterprise, which includes a suite of AI tools already used by companies such as Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages.

Anthropic has also gained traction through Claude Enterprise, securing a deal with consulting firm Deloitte to deploy its chatbot across 500,000 employees, followed by a partnership with IBM. Despite these advances, enterprises continue to face challenges in achieving measurable returns on AI investments. A recent MIT study revealed that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail before reaching full production, underscoring ongoing struggles with cost and scalability.

Still, Salesforce claims that Agentforce now serves more than 12,000 customers, outpacing many competitors. Early pilot users of Agentforce 360 include Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson. With its growing user base and deep product integrations, the platform aims to solidify its place at the forefront of enterprise AI solutions.
