Porsche has introduced the 2026 911 Turbo S at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, marking its most powerful 911 yet. Instead of adding an electric motor to an existing model, engineers designed a new 3.6L flat-six engine. This approach removed the need for belt drives, as ancillaries can now run from the 400 V traction battery.
The hybrid system uses two electric turbochargers that spin almost instantly to 120,000 rpm. These turbos eliminate throttle lag and also capture excess energy to recharge the 1.9 kWh battery pack. Combined with a 53 hp synchronous motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the setup delivers a total output of 701 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Record-Breaking Performance
With this technology, the 911 Turbo S accelerates from 0–60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. Reaching 124 mph takes only 8.4 seconds, which is half a second quicker than the previous Turbo S. Despite weighing 180 lbs more, the hybrid version proved faster on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It completed the demanding 12.9-mile circuit in 7 minutes, 3.92 seconds, a full 14 seconds faster than the earlier model.
The 400 V hybrid system also powers new electrohydraulic anti-roll bars. These respond more quickly than traditional hydraulic ones, enhancing agility and grip across track conditions.
Pricing and Availability
The 2026 911 Turbo S combines daily usability with cutting-edge track performance, offering more comfort, customization, and speed than its predecessor. The coupe starts at $270,300, while the Cabriolet is priced at $284,300. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026.
