Over the past six years, Omantel has invested more than RO500 million to strengthen digital infrastructure across the Sultanate of Oman. As a result, the company has aligned its long-term strategy with national economic priorities and digital transformation goals. Moreover, these investments support the expansion of advanced connectivity and enterprise-grade digital services nationwide. At the same time, Omantel has evolved beyond traditional telecommunications into a broader digital and technology platform.
Expansion Into Advanced Technologies and Regional Markets
Alongside infrastructure development, Omantel has expanded into cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data centres, and enterprise solutions. In addition, the company has supported innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth-focused initiatives that contribute to ecosystem growth. Meanwhile, a strategic investment in Zain Group has extended Omantel’s regional reach into eight markets, enabling services to more than 54 million subscribers. Consequently, the company has strengthened its position as an integrated regional technology group.
Connectivity, Performance, and Global Integration
Furthermore, Omantel has advanced international connectivity by leveraging Oman’s geographic location as a digital gateway. Through partnerships with global technology providers, the company now connects to more than 20 submarine cables linking over 120 cities across 50 countries. In parallel, neutral data centres in Muscat and Salalah support cloud services, cybersecurity, and cross-border digital trade for dozens of international firms. Additionally, enhanced 5G deployment has improved network readiness for next-generation services. By September 2025, revenues reached approximately RO2.3 billion, while subsidiary contributions rose significantly, reflecting stronger financial and operational performance.
