Ministry of Transport Communications and Information Technology Oman has introduced the Oman Maritime Portal, a digital platform offering more than 90 maritime e-services. The initiative aims to modernize maritime operations while also improving service delivery across the sector.

Moreover, the platform focuses on streamlining procedures and reducing reliance on paper-based systems. At the same time, it enhances user experience by integrating services with both government entities and private sector stakeholders. As a result, users can access a more efficient and connected system.

In addition, the portal delivers secure digital solutions supported by dashboards and analytical reports. Therefore, decision-makers can monitor performance while also gaining actionable insights. The initiative also promotes skill development through training and knowledge transfer for national personnel.

Phased Rollout and Key Services

The portal will be introduced in six phases, ensuring gradual expansion and system stability. In its first phase, 13 essential services have already been launched to support maritime operations. These services include vessel and marine unit registration, navigation permit issuance and renewal, and inspection requests.

Furthermore, the system supports registration certificates, mortgage processing, and discharge of mortgage certificates. Consequently, users can complete multiple procedures through a single digital gateway. The platform also integrates with entities such as the Royal Oman Police, the Oman Business Platform, and several government authorities.

Advancing Efficiency Through Digital Transformation

The Oman Maritime Portal serves as a unified gateway for maritime and port services, thereby simplifying access and improving procedural efficiency. Additionally, it features an integrated dashboard that enables real-time monitoring of system performance.
