Oman Boosts E-Waste Future with Smart Recycling Alliance

Omantel and be’ah officials sign e-waste partnership

Omantel and be’ah have formed a partnership to advance electronic waste handling across Oman in line with the nation’s sustainability agenda. The collaboration supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. It focuses on improving how e-waste is collected and recycled throughout the Sultanate.

Moreover, both organizations will work together to raise public awareness of responsible disposal practices and promote environmental stewardship.

Enhancing E-Waste Recycling Efficiency

The effort includes telecommunications, IT equipment, and household electronics at the end of their lifecycle. A dedicated team will oversee the rollout of programs, track results, and explore new initiatives that encourage community participation.

Additionally, the partners are already coordinating with Evergreen Gulf Recycling Hub to ensure that discarded devices reach certified recycling facilities. Consequently, this helps prevent improper disposal and supports circular economy progress.

Technology-Driven Waste Solutions

The collaboration also examines the use of artificial intelligence and IoT to improve real-time monitoring inside recycling facilities. As these technologies enable better visibility and operational decision-making, they are expected to improve overall system performance.

By combining Omantel’s digital innovation with be’ah’s expertise in waste management, the initiative aims to deliver more efficient and sustainable practices for the entire sector.
