Italian luxury brands including Fendi, Prada, Armani, Moncler, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Dolce & Gabbana are all planning to stage physical runway shows during Milan’s Spring/Summer 2022 fashion week from September 21 to 27, according to a draft schedule released by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, fashion’s organising body in Milan.
Gucci, the country’s biggest luxury brand, is a notable absence in the line-up as the Kering-owned label continues to show outside of industry-organised fashion weeks. Rome-based Valentino will be absent as well as the brand returns to Paris Fashion Week after several seasons of staging its events in Italy due to the pandemic.
Overall, 42 out of 61 shows are currently slated as in-person events.
New additions to the calendar include Luisa Spagnoli, HUI, and Vitelli.
