Microsoft introduces new Bing, integrated with OpenAI, Edge and Prometheus

Microsoft recently showcased its latest version of Bing, a search engine that has been integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology and the company’s own AI, known as “the Prometheus model,” as well as its Edge web browser. This new version of Bing is currently in preview mode with a waitlist for early access.

Compared to ChatGPT, which was created less than 10 weeks ago, the AI features in the new Bing represent significant advancements in the field of chatbots powered by generative AI. The new Bing is more current and can answer recent questions, such as those about President Biden’s State of the Union speech.

Additionally, it has access to a vast amount of information and provides better answers, often with links to original sources. The new Bing is also more sophisticated in its language and can generate imaginative and entertaining responses, even with a touch of humour.

The updated version of Bing, powered by Microsoft and OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology, has incorporated new features that enhance its capabilities. Currently, in preview mode with a waitlist, the new Bing can be accessed through a test version of Edge with a Bing button, which opens up a chat panel that can interact with web content. This interaction allows users to request a summary of a web page by saying “summarize this page”. Although these summaries may not always be accurate, particularly with longer articles, they are often impressively accurate.
