Meta teases exciting Generative AI tools coming soon to its platforms!

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, provided a preview of its upcoming AI tools to employees during an all-hands meeting. The showcased tools include chatbots similar to ChatGPT, designed for Messenger and WhatsApp, capable of engaging in conversations using different personas.

During the session, company executives also demonstrated a forthcoming Instagram feature that allows users to modify their photos using text prompts, as well as an emoji sticker creator for messaging services. This glimpse into Meta’s plans marks the first tangible evidence of the social media giant’s intentions to make generative AI tools accessible to its 3.8 billion monthly users. Competitors like Google, Microsoft, and Snapchat had already announced the launch of similar tools in their own products in recent months.

While Meta has not yet released any consumer-facing generative AI products, it did announce a testing phase with a select group of advertisers to explore the use of AI for generating image backgrounds and written copy variations in ad campaigns.

Furthermore, Meta has been restructuring its AI divisions and making substantial investments to strengthen its infrastructure. Recognizing the importance of AI, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed during the meeting that recent advancements in generative AI have enabled the company to incorporate technology into all of its products.
