Billion-Dollar Investments
In June, Meta invested $14.3 billion in Scale AI, a data-labeling vendor. Several Scale AI employees joined MSL, with Alexandr Wang co-leading the lab.
Challenges Ahead
The recent departures reflect challenges in retaining talent during rapid expansion. Meta’s Superintelligence Lab continues to pursue large-scale AI research while competing with organizations like OpenAI and DeepMind.
