Microsoft and Meta have partnered to release a limited edition version of Meta’s Quest 3S VR headset. Priced at $399.99, the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is now available for purchase. Essentially, it is a 128GB Meta Quest 3S featuring a unique “Carbon Black and Velocity Green” color scheme. Additionally, the package includes matching Touch Plus controllers, a limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller, an Elite Strap, plus three months of Meta Horizon+ and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Partnership Highlights and Product Details

Lori Wright, Xbox’s corporate vice president of gaming partnerships and business development, shared her enthusiasm in a statement: “Today, in collaboration with Meta, we are excited to announce the launch of the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition. The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition limited edition release – the first limited edition ever for Quest – is part of our ongoing partnership and celebrates the expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on Meta Quest headsets.” This launch highlights the growing relationship between Microsoft and Meta in the gaming space.

Key Differences and Limitations Compared to Other Devices

Unlike the recently announced Xbox-branded Asus ROG Ally, which features custom OS software and hardware changes, this Xbox Edition Quest 3S has no hardware or software modifications aside from its branding and color. Therefore, it will not connect directly to an Xbox Series X|S console. Instead, it depends on the existing Xbox app on the Quest headset. Moreover, Xbox Game Pass currently does not offer VR games, so the subscription’s library excludes virtual reality titles.
