Lenovo Expands Regional Presence with New MEA HQ in Riyadh

Lenovo MEA headquarters in Riyadh

Lenovo has started construction on its new Middle East and Africa (MEA) Regional Headquarters at Majdoul Tower in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event marks a major milestone in the company’s regional expansion strategy and aligns closely with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. It also reinforces the brand’s commitment to advancing technology and innovation across the MEA region.

The new headquarters will occupy a dedicated floor within Majdoul Tower, one of Riyadh’s most iconic landmarks. The facility will fully comply with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia’s guidelines for regional headquarters and is expected to be fully operational by March 2026. Once completed, the headquarters will serve as a central hub for strategy, operations, and partnerships across the Middle East and Africa, supporting ongoing investments and talent development.

Located in a growing innovation district, the RHQ will strengthen connections with government agencies, Public Investment Fund (PIF)-affiliated companies, and regional technology partners. This step builds on Lenovo’s earlier leadership appointments in Saudi Arabia and its strategic collaboration with ALAT, a PIF-owned enterprise. The initiative aims to accelerate the region’s transformation into a center for advanced technology and digital growth.

Strengthening Regional Growth and Innovation

The new headquarters reflects Lenovo’s deep integration into the Kingdom’s expanding tech landscape. It is designed to promote collaboration, research, and development across critical technology sectors, driving both innovation and sustainable progress. The project supports national development goals while contributing to the diversification of the Saudi economy.

The initiative aligns with government efforts to attract international companies, boost high-tech manufacturing, and improve regional competitiveness. Through investments in infrastructure and workforce development, Lenovo continues to strengthen its long-term presence within the Kingdom’s innovation ecosystem.

Partnership with ALAT Boosts Local Manufacturing

Earlier this year, Lenovo and ALAT began developing a 200,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing facility in Riyadh’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone. The site will produce “Saudi Made” devices by 2026, marking a major advancement in the nation’s technology manufacturing capabilities.

Beyond production, the partnership emphasizes research, technology localization, and skills training. Lenovo and ALAT plan to generate 15,000 direct and 45,000 indirect jobs, bringing global expertise into the local market. These efforts directly support Saudi Arabia’s target of ranking among the world’s top 15 nations in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing by 2030.

This collaboration enhances regional capacity for advanced manufacturing and accelerates economic diversification. Through strategic investment and innovation, Lenovo’s presence contributes to building a dynamic, technology-driven economy while positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading hub for global innovation and sustainable growth.
