Digital Dubai invited the community to choose the first Emirati virtual character. Nearly 14,000 people participated, and Latifa won with 43 percent of the vote. Moreover, Mira received 37 percent, while Dubai obtained 20 percent.
Community choice and results
The public vote attracted strong engagement across the emirate. Consequently, the selection reflects broad interest in digital representation. Furthermore, the result sets the stage for a larger creative project.
The virtual family and its purpose
Latifa was introduced as part of a virtual family that includes a father, mother, and brother. Moreover, the family is inspired by Emirati values and designed to connect with diverse community segments. The digital ambassadors will share storytelling content that reflects everyday digital life. In addition, the project aims to promote a culture of technology in relatable ways.
Next steps and objectives
Next, Digital Dubai will develop communication identities for each family member. Then, it will roll out storytelling and awareness content for different age groups. Therefore, the initiative seeks to make digital services more accessible through entertaining and educational formats. Finally, the characters will appear across social platforms to highlight digital initiatives and promote safe, responsible online behaviour.
