Korg Launches Handytraxx: Next-Gen Portable Vinyl Players

Korg has reimagined the legendary Handy Trax portable turntable through the Handytraxx series, developed in collaboration with Toshihide Nakama, the original design’s co-creator. The lineup introduces three specialized models catering to different vinyl enthusiasts.

The Handytraxx Play targets professional DJs with its advanced features. It includes a crossfader, EQ and filter controls, delay effects, and an audio looper. The turntable’s innovative design features a reversible control panel for left- and right-handed users, accompanied by 2.5-watt built-in speakers and flexible power options via AC adapter or six AA batteries.

Audiophiles will gravitate toward the Handytraxx Tube, which employs Korg’s Nutube vacuum tube technology to produce rich, warm sound profiles. A die-cast aluminum platter and adjustable tonearm ensure precise playback. A limited edition Tube J model further distinguishes itself with an upgraded JICO Clipper MM Cartridge.

The flagship Handytraxx 1bit is engineered for audio archivists. Leveraging Korg’s AudioGate 4 software, this model captures vinyl in Direct Stream Digital (DSD) format at 5.6 million samples per second, guaranteeing archival-quality sound reproduction. Its advanced specifications include a universal tonearm, interchangeable headshell, and Nutube technology.
