ICEYE has successfully launched four new Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites, including the first UAE-based satellite, developed in collaboration with Bayanat, an AI-driven geospatial solutions provider, and Yahsat, the UAE’s leading satellite operator. This achievement marks a significant step toward advancing the UAE’s Space Strategy 2030, including the country’s first SAR satellite placed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
ICEYE, a global leader in SAR satellite technology, specializes in Earth observation, continuous monitoring, and disaster response solutions. The company is reshaping the way we monitor the planet, offering vital insights before, during, and after natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and wildfires.
As the operator of the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, ICEYE aims to significantly expand its fleet with additional launches planned for 2025 and beyond. A larger constellation allows for more frequent satellite revisits of the same location, which is crucial for tracking dynamic events like natural disasters and infrastructure changes. It also reduces the delay between data acquisition and delivery, ensuring near-real-time analysis.
The launch of Foresight-1, the UAE’s first SAR satellite, is a key milestone in ICEYE’s long-term partnership with Space-42 and contributes significantly to the UAE’s growing space capabilities. This effort aligns with the country’s National Space Strategy 2030, which aims to foster growth in the domestic space sector and enhance its satellite remote sensing and Earth observation capabilities.
