Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s renowned global tech ecosystem, has announced the introduction of its first cohort of startups for 2023. This cohort features 15 diverse and innovative companies operating in priority sectors such as HealthTech, FinTech, and EdTech. The selection process was highly competitive, with Hub71 witnessing a remarkable 70% increase in applications compared to the previous cohort.
An impressive 67% of the selected startups are based outside the UAE, highlighting the growing international appeal of Abu Dhabi as a robust startup innovation hub. The city offers tech entrepreneurs access to capital, a thriving community, and a business-friendly environment conducive to their growth and success.
Ahmad Ali Alwan, Deputy CEO of Hub71, emphasized the rigorous selection process, stating that each startup was chosen based on its unique capabilities and potential to become successful global tech company rooted in Abu Dhabi.
The 15 startups joining Hub71’s ecosystem this year hail from various countries, including the UAE, the United States, New Zealand, Egypt, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. This addition expands Hub71’s vibrant community to over 240 startups, further enriching the ecosystem’s collaborative and dynamic environment.
