During the LEAP 2023 event, Huawei Cloud announced its intention to launch a cloud region in Saudi Arabia with the goal of fostering the country’s digital economy and providing enhanced cloud services for government agencies, corporations, and individuals. This move is a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting digital transformation through the provision of cloud services.
Huawei Cloud recognizes the critical role that cloud technology plays in the digital world, serving as the foundation for advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and more. With this in mind, the company has adopted an “Everything-as-a-Service” approach, which encompasses Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Technology-as-a-Service, and Expertise-as-a-Service, in order to help customers make a smooth transition to the cloud and get the most value from it.
The company has made significant investments in AI and has launched a range of leading AI products, including ModelArts, a one-stop AI development platform that covers every aspect of developing an AI application, from data processing to model deployment. Huawei has also introduced Pangu Drug Molecule Model, which has dramatically reduced the time and cost required for drug discovery.
In addition, Huawei Cloud offers DataArts, a one-stop data development and governance platform that brings together big data and AI. This platform includes GaussDB, a cloud database service, and FusionInsight, an intelligent data lake solution, to help enterprises build a solid data foundation and maximize the value of their data. With its recent investment of $400 million over the next five years, Huawei Cloud is well-positioned to support the digital transformation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
