HPE expands Saudi-Made ProLiant servers

HPE AMD Saudi Made servers launch event

HPE expanded its ‘Saudi Made’ server portfolio with two new ProLiant models. At the Alfanar production site in Riyadh, HPE, AMD, and Alfanar presented the first AMD CPU-powered server off the new production line. Furthermore, the move marks a notable milestone for the ‘Saudi Made’ initiative and supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 drive for a data-driven economy.

Performance and availability

The HPE ProLiant DL365 and DL385 Gen11 run on 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors and deliver stronger analytics and compute performance. Moreover, these servers provide high core counts, large memory footprints, and flexible storage options to meet growing workload demands. The systems carry the ‘Saudi Tech’ logo and are available immediately in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Gulf countries. In addition, HPE says the local manufacturing effort helps accelerate national ambitions for secure, high-performance infrastructure.

“We’re delighted to celebrate this major milestone together with our partners AMD and alfanar as we further expand our portfolio of ‘Saudi Made’ servers,” said Mohammad Alrehaili, managing director for the Middle East, HPE.

Skills, ecosystem, and impact

HPE and AMD will offer new training programmes to advance local technical skills, with emphasis on expanding opportunities for Saudi women. Consequently, the programme aims to strengthen the Kingdom’s tech ecosystem while fostering innovation across retail, manufacturing, and cloud use cases. Furthermore, the expanded portfolio follows last year’s ‘Saudi Made’ HPE server launch and builds on certified local production capacity.

“AMD EPYC CPUs provide the energy efficiency and performance leadership required to help power the infrastructure that will support Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive digital growth strategy,” said Zaid Ghattas, general manager, Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa, AMD.

“We are proud to support this expansion of the HPE ‘Saudi Made’ server portfolio, further strengthening not only our own production capabilities, but also our joint contributions to the growing tech ecosystem within the Kingdom,” said Markus Grabmeier, vice president, Alfanar Electric.
