His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has directed the relevant authorities to assess the use of artificial intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT in the government sector. During a UAE Cabinet meeting, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the need to study the impact of these technologies on various fields such as education, health, and media, among others. The assessment aims to determine the safe utilization of ChatGPT and other similar technologies in the government sector.
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is a cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology that can mimic human writing. The software has been trained on vast amounts of online data, allowing it to produce written content that is human-like and convincing.
The technology can generate articles, essays, jokes, and even poetry in response to prompts. OpenAI, backed by Microsoft Corp, made ChatGPT available to the public for free in November 2020.
