Burjeel Holdings PJSC, based in the United Arab Emirates, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Leejam Sports Company JSC, owner and operator of 155 Fitness Time fitness centres in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and the largest fitness centre operator in the Middle East and North Africa region. The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia headquarters in Riyadh.
The joint venture between Burjeel Holdings and Leejam will establish and operate over 60 physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and wellness centres in Leejam’s fitness centres throughout Saudi Arabia, including rehabilitation and sports medicine facilities in major cities in the Kingdom. The centres will provide a range of services including physiotherapy, restoration, and wellness, including vitamin infusion, cryotherapy, and oxy chambers, as well as complementary medicine services such as Ayurveda and Naturopathy, with a focus on sports medicine and advanced rehabilitation treatments.
They will also offer expert medical services for pain, musculoskeletal, and neurological problems. This joint venture has the support of the Saudi Ministry of Sport as it works to promote initiatives that improve and develop the sports environment in the Kingdom. The joint venture will initially open six centres in the next quarter in Riyadh city and will expand its services across the Leejam network in Saudi Arabia over the next 12-18 months.
Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, commented on the announcement, saying that the collaboration with Leejam to provide rehabilitation and sports medicine services is significant as they start operations in Saudi Arabia, a country known for its love of sports and football. He added that athletes of all levels and passionate young people will benefit from comprehensive care, ranging from prevention to rehabilitation, tailored to their specific needs. This will create a world-class support system that enables athletes to improve their performance.
