Google Prepares Pixel 10a While Rolling Out Powerful New Pixel Features

Google is reportedly developing the Pixel 10a, and early leaks are already giving users a glimpse of what to expect. Although the device remains unreleased, excitement continues to build as more information surfaces. Moreover, existing Pixel users have reason to celebrate because a long-requested feature is finally arriving on older models. This shift creates anticipation not only for new hardware but also for meaningful updates across the Pixel lineup.

Google has begun activating native call recording on older Pixel devices, and reports suggest the feature is now reaching a wider audience. Several users have started noticing a new call recording button in the Google Phone app. According to recent updates, the option appears for those running the November Feature Drop along with version 198 of the Google Phone app. Additionally, beta users with newer builds are reportedly beginning to receive it.

Expanding Access to Call Recording

The company had announced in September that call recording would be available on older devices. However, the feature did not appear broadly until now. As the rollout progresses, more supported phones should gain access over the coming days. The company has confirmed that the feature will be gradually rolled out to all supported models, beginning with the Pixel 6. Furthermore, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 families already include AI-powered Call Notes and recording tools, so users can expect the feature to reach the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 lineups soon.

This move improves the user experience across generations, and it also helps extend the longevity of older devices. Since many users prefer keeping their phones longer, these updates offer practical value while also keeping the software ecosystem consistent.

New Additions in the November 2025 Feature Drop

Earlier this week, Google introduced the November 2025 Pixel Feature Drop, and the update brings several notable improvements. Among the standout additions is a Remix tool in the Messages app, allowing users to restyle photos using the Nano Banana editing model. This tool adds creative flexibility and encourages more playful image sharing.

The update also includes AI-driven notification summaries, which aim to highlight key details more efficiently. Additionally, new scam alerts will notify users of potential fraudulent messages in chats, offering an extra layer of protection. Together, these enhancements strengthen the overall Pixel experience while also demonstrating the company’s ongoing focus on useful, AI-supported features.
