]Google has begun rolling out AI-generated weather summaries powered by Gemini, adding a new layer of weather intelligence to Search. The feature provides users with concise forecasts that explain upcoming weather conditions in plain language instead of relying solely on charts and data.
The update appears within Google Weather results and combines forecast information with AI-generated insights. As a result, users can quickly understand expected weather patterns without reviewing multiple forecast elements. Google labels the summaries as experimental and continues to test the feature with a limited group of users.
AI Delivers More Context for Forecasts
Unlike traditional weather displays, the Gemini-generated summaries explain how different weather factors may affect conditions throughout the day. The summaries can include information about wind patterns, pressure systems, chances of rain or thunderstorms, and expected temperature changes.
In addition, the feature provides a direct way for users to explore supporting information. A linked source section allows users to access additional weather-related websites for deeper analysis. According to reports, the AI-generated text currently appears between hourly forecasts and the 10-day forecast section. Google also displays a notice stating that the generative AI feature remains experimental.
Limited Availability During Testing Phase
At present, the rollout appears restricted to selected users and locations. Reports indicate that the feature has been spotted for certain city searches in the United States, while many users still cannot access it. Furthermore, availability seems limited to the Google app and mobile web experience.
The feature does not currently appear for users who are logged out of their Google accounts, and it has not been widely observed on desktop search. Consequently, Google is likely gathering feedback and performance data before expanding availability.
Gemini Expands Google’s Weather Experience
The weather summaries reflect Google’s broader effort to integrate Gemini AI across its products and services. Recently, Google introduced additional Gemini-powered weather capabilities for smart displays and connected home devices, including detailed hourly forecasts and improved regional accuracy.
Meanwhile, Google continues to invest in AI-driven weather technologies through advanced forecasting models and weather intelligence platforms. These initiatives aim to make weather information more accessible, understandable, and useful for everyday decision-making.
As testing continues, Gemini weather summaries could become a standard part of Google Search, giving users a faster and more intuitive way to understand changing weather conditions.
