Google has introduced the ability to share Gemini Gems, its customizable AI assistants designed for specific tasks. The feature, which began as part of Gemini Advanced, allowed users to build AI chatbots for scenarios such as coaching, brainstorming, editing, or coding. With this update, users can now easily share their creations with others, making the tools more accessible.
Streamlined Collaboration and Accessibility
Sharing removes the need for multiple people to create duplicate Gems, saving both time and effort. As a result, teams or groups can rely on consistent AI assistants without worrying about inconsistencies between versions. This function is also useful for personal projects, including vacation planning, meal preparation, or collaborative writing. Additionally, access controls allow creators to manage who can view, use, or edit each Gem.
Global Availability and Integration
The rollout initially targeted subscribers of Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise in more than 150 countries. However, the feature has now expanded to all users. Furthermore, Gems supports file uploads, enabling richer customization and broader application across work and personal tasks.
