Emirates NBD, Techstars Boost AI and FinTech Innovation Across MENAT
Emirates NBD and Techstars have formed a strategic partnership to advance artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology (FinTech) innovation across the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT). Through the collaboration, the organizations aim to connect promising startups with enterprise banking opportunities.
The partnership introduces an “Acceleration-to-Enterprise” model that links AI and FinTech startups directly with Emirates NBD’s banking operations across multiple markets. As a result, startups will be able to develop, test, and refine their products within the bank’s ecosystem before commercial deployment.
Partnership Expands Startup Opportunities
The collaboration combines Techstars’ global startup network with Emirates NBD’s digital banking expertise, AI initiatives, and fintech programs. Meanwhile, the bank already operates more than 50 active AI use cases across its business.
Under the partnership, both organizations will support startups building solutions for compliance, wealth management, SME banking, and capital markets. Additionally, selected companies will gain access to Emirates NBD’s cloud-native infrastructure to pilot enterprise-ready technologies. Consequently, the initiative will strengthen collaboration between startups and the banking sector while encouraging commercial adoption.
The partnership also supports Emirates NBD’s digital transformation strategy. Furthermore, it aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to position Dubai among the world’s leading financial centers. The bank recently secured the top position in the inaugural Evident AI Index for Banks – Middle East and Africa, highlighting its progress in AI leadership, innovation, and talent.
Supporting Long-Term AI Growth
The initiative will help startups access enterprise banking opportunities in the UAE while supporting the development of AI and FinTech solutions for regional and international markets. Moreover, it complements broader innovation efforts, including the National Digital Talent Incubator (NDTI), which focuses on developing the next generation of regional fintech entrepreneurs.
