The first phase of the Dubai Loop project, an underground high-speed transport network, will begin immediately, a UAE official said on Tuesday. Moreover, the project will be built by Elon Musk’s Boring Company and aims to ease congestion across the city. According to officials, the overall plan covers 24 kilometres (14.9 miles) across Dubai. Meanwhile, the total cost is estimated at nearly 2.5 billion dirhams ($680.81 million).
Funding and Initial Phase
Additionally, the first phase will focus on six kilometres of tunnels. “The project covers 24 kilometres (14.9 miles) in Dubai, with a cost of nearly 2.5 billion ($680.81 million), the first phase to start immediately with 600 million dirham covering six kilometres”, Mattar Al Tayer, the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said. As a result, construction activity is expected to ramp up quickly across designated areas.
Timeline and Completion
