Dubai has announced a major partnership between the Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) and Dubai AI Campus. This initiative aims to train over 10,000 individuals by 2030, preparing both public and private sector employees for the growing impact of artificial intelligence. By focusing on local capability-building, the project supports Dubai’s vision of becoming a global hub for innovation and technology, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
Key Programmes and Goals Under the Partnership
The collaboration will develop advanced training programmes, hands-on projects, and mentorship opportunities targeting civil servants, executives, and private professionals. One important programme is “AI for Civil Service,” which will provide government workers with generative AI skills to enhance public services.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General of DGHR, highlighted the importance of this effort: “Investing in human capital is key to positioning Dubai among the world’s top knowledge economies. This collaboration with Dubai AI Campus will equip our workforce to lead in digital transformation and ensure the emirate’s long-term competitiveness.”
The programme includes practical AI application training, workshops, seminars, and career mentorship. It also encourages innovative AI solutions that will be evaluated by experts from DIFC, Udacity, and other industry leaders.
Strategic Impact and Vision for Dubai’s Future
According to Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, the partnership will strengthen employee skills across sectors and enable them to adapt to rapid digital changes. He stated, “At DGHR, we consider investing in human capital as a major step towards attaining the vision of our wise leadership in leading the global innovation and technology landscape and positioning Dubai at the forefront of the world’s top knowledge economies.”
He added that the partnership ensures sustainable economic and social development, while enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness. Moreover, it demonstrates a commitment to preparing future generations by fostering innovation, creativity, and institutional excellence.
The collaboration also aims to boost cross-sector cooperation, generate high-quality AI research in HR, and support technology innovation events throughout Dubai. This initiative is part of the city’s broader strategy to embed advanced technologies within its economy and government, creating a forward-looking, knowledge-based society for years to come.
