Dubai Residents Urged to Enhance Data Security on Social Media

Dubai Residents Advised to Secure Data and Photos Shared on Social Media

The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DSEC) has emphasized the importance of prioritizing data security when sharing photos, videos, or other content on social media platforms. Speaking at the Global Government Cloud Forum at the Museum of the Future, Dr. Bushra AlBlooshi, Director of the Cybersecurity Governance Risk Management Department at DSEC, urged residents to take ownership of their personal data.

Dr. AlBlooshi highlighted the significance of using tools like the RZAM app, developed by DSEC, to safeguard data against vulnerabilities online. She also advised users to activate the encryption and security features provided by social media platforms to protect personal and family photos.

“As the ambassador and owner of your data, you hold the responsibility for its safety. Social media apps offer mechanisms to enhance security, and it’s essential for users to activate these tools,” said Dr. AlBlooshi.
