Dubai International Airport (DXB) will introduce a ticketless parking payment system across all terminals later this month under a 10-year agreement.
Notably, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Mattar Al Tayer witnessed the partnership signing.
Starting January 22, 2026, motorists can pay parking fees automatically through the Salik E-Wallet.
Additionally, the technology will cover 7,400 parking spaces at Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and the Cargo Mega Terminal.
How the system works for motorists
The new setup links Salik’s digital payment platform with the airport’s existing car park management system.
As a result, drivers will no longer need physical tickets or kiosk payments.
Instead, the system will deduct charges directly from a driver’s registered Salik account when they exit.
Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Airports, said that the airport car park is often the ‘first and last touchpoint’ for passengers.
Therefore, Griffiths explained that the digital payment solution aims to reduce congestion and queues at terminal exits while simplifying the overall parking experience.
Moreover, he added that with more than 4.7 million vehicles across the UAE already linked to Salik, the system offers a familiar and trusted payment option for many visitors.
Timed for record travel demand
Meanwhile, the rollout comes as DXB continues to see record-breaking passenger traffic.
For example, the airport reported its busiest quarter in its 65-year history, handling 24.2 million passengers in the third quarter of 2025 alone.
Likewise, passenger traffic for the first nine months of 2025 reached 70.1 million, highlighting the need for faster ground services.
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of Salik, stated that, “By integrating Salik’s E-Wallet at DXB, we are delivering a seamless, efficient experience for road users and advancing state-of-the-art mobility solutions for the emirate. This agreement is fully aligned with our strategy to expand Salik’s role in smart and sustainable mobility while accelerating growth beyond our core tolling business.”
However, while the Salik E-Wallet will serve as a primary option, multiple payment channels will remain available for all users.
