Dubai AI Center sparks taskforce revolution in 30 government entities

Dubai is taking significant strides in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its government operations and services. In line with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Executive Council, a total of 30 government entities have formed specialized task forces. These taskforces, announced during the inaugural meeting of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), are aimed at harnessing the potential of AI to drive transformation and innovation.

The DCAI, recently established under Sheikh Hamdan’s leadership, serves as a platform to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Dubai government. It also reinforces Dubai’s position as a global frontrunner in adopting cutting-edge technologies. The newly formed task forces will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of various initiatives and projects initiated by the DCAI.

Collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the government entities, as well as cooperation with local and global partners in the private sector, will be key aspects of the taskforces’ work. Their objective is to identify key sectors where AI can have a significant impact and determine the most promising technologies to enhance government performance.

During the inaugural meeting, attendees were provided with an overview of the DCAI’s objectives and immediate focus. Discussions revolved around establishing mechanisms to forge partnerships with public and private organizations. These partnerships aim to explore future opportunities, effectively utilize AI, and further enhance government services.
