DMCC Unveils AI Centre to Propel Global AI Solutions

DMCC, the free zone and Dubai Government Authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has launched the DMCC AI Centre, aiming to boost artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across the MENA region. This cutting-edge innovation platform is designed to develop practical AI solutions and scalable use cases.

At the launch event, over 60 distinguished guests, including industry leaders like Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), and Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, Chief AI Officer at Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, were briefed on the new centre’s services and advantages. Representatives from AI companies and government officials were also present to discuss the opportunities the centre offers.

Khalfan Belhoul emphasised the UAE’s ambition to become a global leader in AI by 2031, aligning with the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence. He remarked, “The launch of the DMCC AI Centre is a major step toward establishing Dubai as a global hub for AI and emerging technologies. This platform will attract innovative companies, support AI development, and foster a business ecosystem that encourages innovation.”

The DMCC AI Centre, located within DMCC’s Uptown Tower, will share space with the already established DMCC Crypto Centre and DMCC Gaming Centre, creating a comprehensive technology hub.

Spread over two floors, it offers advanced co-working areas, meeting rooms, and an exclusive AI solutions showroom, providing members with state-of-the-art facilities.

Currently, DMCC houses over 50 AI and robotics companies, including global names like AMD, Autel Robotics, HIKVISION, Laipic, and QX Lab AI. As part of its efforts, DMCC has partnered with prominent AI firms such as Builder.ai, which will help businesses create AI-driven apps, and AGCC, which will run accelerator programmes to attract top AI technologies globally. A competition with a US$100,000 prize pool for start-ups focusing on sustainable AI solutions is already scheduled for Expand North Star in Dubai this October.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, highlighted the significance of the centre in transforming global business. “AI is expected to add over US$15 trillion to the global economy by 2030. The DMCC AI Centre will offer businesses a world-class ecosystem, giving them access to the best AI solutions. As we expand our technologies and attract new providers, these benefits will extend to all companies within DMCC, creating a ripple effect for the broader business community.”
