- The Deep Web is 400x bigger than the internet we know.
The Deep Web is a site that isn’t picked up by a search engine like Google. Although the Deep Web and the Dark Web are sometimes confused, they are not the same thing. The Deep Web is a subclass of the Dark Web, which mostly comprises encrypted websites with concealed IP addresses that keep users’ identities and whereabouts private. Being able to conceal identities in this way will make it attractive for criminals to sell their illicit goods. However, just 0.01% of the Deep Web comprises the Dark Web. The Deep Web also contains items like the portions of premium subscription services, password-protected email accounts, and other such secured data. Only 0.03% of the internet is represented by the Surface Web or the content that search engines can access.
