
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), led by MD & CEO His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, recently hosted a high-level delegation from Dubai Municipality at Moro Hub, its digital arm under Digital DEWA. The delegation was led by His Excellency Marwan Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality. The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening digital cooperation between the two government entities.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in smart infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation. The meeting was also attended by Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman –Digital & Group CEO of Digital DEWA, along with other senior executives. Notably, this initiative supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a global hub for innovation and environmental leadership.
According to Al Tayer, “This visit by Dubai Municipality reinforces the critical need for unified efforts among government entities to accelerate the deployment of smart, secure, and sustainable infrastructure.” He further added, “At Digital DEWA, we aim to empower digital transformation and drive forward a resilient green economy, fully aligned with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategy and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.”
Sustainability Through Innovation and Infrastructure
As part of the visit, delegates received a comprehensive overview of Moro Hub’s digital capabilities. These included a tour of its Network Operations Center (NOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), Smart Cities and IoT Command Center, and the region’s largest solar-powered Green Data Center. This hands-on experience gave attendees a clearer understanding of the practical infrastructure supporting Dubai’s sustainability goals.
To highlight the collaborative spirit, Al Tayer presented Moro Hub’s Green Certificate to Bin Ghalita. This certificate recognized Dubai Municipality’s move to host its IT workloads in the eco-friendly facility an effort that significantly contributes to reducing environmental impact. Such steps reflect how sustainability and digital advancement can progress hand-in-hand when agencies align their efforts.
Building a Smarter, Greener Dubai
HE Bin Ghalita emphasized the value of the partnership, stating, “As Dubai advances its vision to become one of the smartest and most sustainable cities globally, strategic collaborations like this are key. Moro Hub’s digital expertise will help elevate our smart city capabilities, public service delivery, and infrastructure resilience.”
This collaboration also showcased how Moro Hub is supporting both public and private sectors in their digital journeys. The delegation gained insight into how the platform serves as a central digital enabler delivering services across Cloud & Hosting, Cybersecurity, IoT, Managed Services, and Smart City solutions.
With both DEWA and Dubai Municipality working toward shared national goals, this partnership reflects the growing importance of unified, tech-driven approaches in achieving a sustainable and smart future for the UAE.
