GDG Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Join Forces to Host DevFest 2025: A Premier AI & Tech Gathering at Zayed University
The UAE’s largest community-led tech event returns with expert talks, hands-on labs in AI and Cloud. The event will also debut “DevTime,” a new open-mic segment for developers to present their projects and ideas.
The Google Developer Groups (GDG) Sharjah and GDG Abu Dhabi announced their collaborative DevFest 2025 event, set to take place on 16 November at Zayed University in Dubai’s Academic City. The much-anticipated event will unite hundreds of developers, students, and tech professionals to explore the latest advancements in technology, with special focus on Artificial Intelligence and Cloud.
This year’s DevFest is built around the theme of “AI & Tech,” offering attendees a rich program designed for practical learning and community engagement. The event will feature multiple tracks, including:
- AI/ML Deep Dives: Sessions exploring the newest models, tools, and real-world applications of artificial intelligence.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on workshops focused on scalable solutions, cloud-native development, and data management.
- Expert-Led Tech Talks: Insights from industry leaders and Google Developer Experts on the future of software development.
A unique addition to this year’s event is “DevTime,” a new open-mic segment. This platform gives any community member five minutes to present a project, share a technical discovery, or discuss an interesting topic, fostering grassroots innovation and peer-to-peer learning.
“DevFest is more than just a conference; it’s a celebration of the vibrant developer community here in the UAE,” said Asma Ramadan, Lead Organizer for GDG Sharjah. “By partnering with GDG Abu Dhabi, we’re creating an even larger platform for developers to connect, learn new skills hands-on, and get inspired. The new ‘DevTime’ segment, in particular, empowers our members to share the spotlight and show what they’re truly passionate about.”
