DAB 1αX: Electric Scrambler For Street And Trail
At Milan Design Week 2025, DAB Motors introduced its latest innovation—the DAB 1αX. This new electric scrambler builds on the foundation of the original DAB 1α but brings more versatility. While the original leaned toward sleek city cruising, the 1αX ventures beyond, embracing both urban and off-road terrains.
Rather than reinventing its structure, DAB retained the lightweight, minimalist frame of the 1α. However, it cleverly added off-road upgrades like Pirelli knobby tires and a raised carbon fiber front fender. These elements give it the rugged edge needed for trails. Additionally, the all-black color scheme and angular profile make it just as eye-catching on city streets.
CEO and lead designer Simon Dabadie describes the bike as “built for the street, born from dirt bike memories.” That quote sums up the spirit behind the 1αX. It’s a machine that mixes modern style with off-road nostalgia.
Power and Performance Meet Sustainability
Beneath its sleek frame, the DAB 1αX delivers serious performance. It generates a peak power of 25.5 kW and 291 lb-ft of torque at the wheel. This provides an exhilarating ride, though it remains nearly silent—an advantage for both urban environments and nature trails. Furthermore, the 72V battery is both recyclable and repairable, addressing environmental concerns without sacrificing range.
You can travel nearly 100 miles on a full charge. Better yet, the battery fully charges in under 3.5 hours, making it easy to stay on the move. Advanced features like Paioli adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes, and regenerative braking enhance both control and comfort. There’s even a Nitro boost button for quick acceleration when needed.
Custom Craftsmanship with a French Touch
Handbuilt in France, the DAB 1αX also offers luxurious details. It includes an Alcantara seat, plus upcycled Airbus carbon fiber panels—details that set it apart in a crowded EV market. Moreover, the DAB Custom Studio allows riders to tailor nearly every feature to their personal taste, ensuring no two bikes are alike.
Priced at €14,900 EUR (roughly $16,350 USD), the DAB 1αX is now available on the DAB Motors official website. It isn’t just an electric motorcycle—it’s a lifestyle statement, blending craftsmanship, power, and design into one refined package.
