The company’s future vision is sweeping. Not only does OpenAI envision ChatGPT assisting with day-to-day tasks like taking notes or drafting emails, but also with more personal and complex needs. For example, it might help users reconnect with friends or discover highly rated local businesses. Through these diverse tasks, ChatGPT is meant to become a constant and intuitive presence in users’ lives.

In the document, OpenAI characterizes ChatGPT as “T-shaped.” This means the system combines broad, general abilities with deep, specialized knowledge.
