ChatGPT launches a year-end review similar to Spotify Wrapped

ChatGPT year-end review screen

ChatGPT is rolling out a year-end review feature that mirrors the spirit of Spotify Wrapped, offering users a personalized look back at their activity.

Feature Overview and Availability

To begin with, the new experience is called “Your Year with ChatGPT” and is launching for eligible users in select markets. Currently, access includes the United States as well as other English-speaking regions such as Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand. Moreover, the feature is available across the web app and mobile apps on iOS and Android. However, it will appear as an optional prompt on the home screen rather than opening automatically.

Eligibility and Access Rules

At launch, the feature is open to users on free, Plus, and Pro plans, provided certain settings are enabled. Specifically, users must have both “reference saved memories” and “reference chat history” turned on and must meet a minimum activity threshold. In contrast, Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts cannot access the feature. Additionally, the experience is described as “lightweight, privacy-forward, and user-controlled.”

Personalization and User Experience

Much like other year-end summaries, the review uses colorful graphics and tailors results to individual usage. For example, users may receive playful “awards” based on how they interacted with the chatbot throughout the year. In addition, the feature generates a custom poem and an image centered on the user’s interests. Finally, users can also activate the experience directly by asking for “Your Year with ChatGPT” within a conversation.
