Bluesky Launches Attie AI App for Personalized Social Media Feeds

Attie AI social feed interface

Bluesky has introduced Attie, a standalone AI application that enables users to create personalized social media feeds using natural language. Instead of coding, users can simply describe what they want. As a result, the tool lowers the barrier to customizing online content.

The app runs on Claude, developed by Anthropic. Moreover, Jay Graber and Paul Frazee presented it at ATmosphereConf. Notably, Attie marks the first product built outside the main app. Meanwhile, the launch follows Graber’s shift away from the CEO role to focus on innovation.

In addition, interim CEO Toni Schneider described the release as a turning point. “It’s a new product — it’s not a part of the Bluesky app,” Schneider said. “Attie represents our first standalone application built by Jay Graber’s new innovation team.”

How Attie Simplifies Feed Creation

Attie allows users to type conversational prompts to generate curated feeds. For example, users can request music-focused content or niche technical topics. Consequently, the app removes the need for programming knowledge.

“It feels more like having a conversation than configuring software,” Graber wrote in a blog post announcing the product. Furthermore, Attie operates on the AT Protocol, which connects multiple apps in the same ecosystem. Because of this, it can access broader data across platforms.

Additionally, feeds created through Attie will eventually appear inside the main app and other compatible applications. Therefore, users will experience a more unified and flexible content system.

Strategy, Vision, and Future Plans

Graber positioned Attie as an alternative to how large platforms use AI. “Today, major platforms use AI to serve themselves, not their users,” she said. “We think AI should serve people, not platforms. An open protocol puts this power directly in users’ hands.”

Similarly, Schneider compared the ecosystem to WordPress. “With WordPress, that turned into a huge ecosystem with billions of dollars flowing through it,” he said. “This is what we’re hoping for, for the Atmosphere.”

Currently, Attie remains in closed beta, with early access limited to event attendees. However, a waitlist is available for broader users. Looking ahead, the team plans to expand capabilities further. For instance, users may eventually “vibe-code” entire social applications through simple prompts.

At the same time, the platform aims to boost engagement after a decline in daily activity. Therefore, Attie represents a strategic push toward AI-driven personalization to retain users and strengthen the ecosystem.
