Apple is expected to introduce HomeView, its first dedicated smart home hub, at its “Welcome Home” event on October 13, 2026. The device could mark a major step in the company’s effort to connect smart home controls, voice assistance, and everyday information in one place. However, Apple has not yet officially confirmed the product name or specifications.
HomeView will combine a touchscreen display with a speaker base and Siri-powered controls. Moreover, the hub could serve as a central interface for compatible smart home devices, calendars, music, and other Apple services.
HomeView Design and Expected Features
Reports suggest that HomeView will use Apple’s A18 chip to support its interface and AI features. In addition, the device will reportedly be available in two designs: a countertop model with a speaker base and a wall-mounted version.
The countertop version could come in space grey, silver, starlight, and pink. Meanwhile, the wall-mounted model may offer fewer colour choices. The display is expected to support touch input, although voice commands through Siri will remain central to the experience.
HomeView could also support Apple apps such as Calendar, Music, Notes, Reminders, and Podcasts. Furthermore, reports indicate that it may support FaceTime calls and personalised interfaces for different household members. However, the device reportedly will not include a dedicated App Store for third-party applications at launch.
Release Timeline and Apple’s Smart Home Strategy
Although Apple is expected to reveal HomeView on October 13, customers may have to wait until mid-November to buy it. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple plans to release the hub after updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models.
The expected launch also points to a broader smart home strategy. Apple may introduce compatible accessories developed with partners, including smart doorbells, locks, thermostats, and security cameras. Consequently, HomeView could become the main control point for a wider range of connected household devices.
The launch would put Apple in closer competition with products such as the Amazon Echo Show and the Google Nest Hub. Nevertheless, its success will depend on Siri’s usefulness, device compatibility, privacy protections, and the quality of its connected home experience.
For now, the reported details remain unconfirmed until Apple’s announcement. The October 13 event should clarify HomeView’s final name, features, pricing, and availability.
