Anthropic Nears $900 Billion Valuation in AI Race

Anthropic AI valuation growth announcement

Anthropic is in talks to raise at least $30 billion in what could become its largest funding round to date. Furthermore, discussions place the company’s pre-money valuation at over $900 billion, more than doubling its February 2026 valuation of $380 billion in just a few months. As a result, Anthropic is rapidly emerging as one of the most valuable private companies in the world.

The round is drawing strong interest from major institutional investors. Notably, Greenoaks, Sequoia, Altimeter, and Dragoneer are each expected to contribute $2 billion or more. Meanwhile, the deal remains fluid, as no formal term sheet has been signed at this stage.

Revenue Growth and Financial Momentum

Anthropic’s financials are equally striking. The company expects to post nearly $11 billion in revenue in the second quarter alone. Additionally, it has communicated to investors that its annualized run rate revenue could exceed $50 billion by the end of June. Consequently, this rapid growth is a key driver behind investor confidence in the current round. Claude Code, for instance, already reached $2.5 billion in annualized revenue by February 2026, reflecting strong enterprise adoption across the platform.

Strategic Backing and IPO Outlook

Beyond the current round, Anthropic has secured significant long-term commitments from technology giants. Amazon is investing up to $25 billion alongside substantial compute capacity. Similarly, Google has committed up to $40 billion, contingent on Anthropic reaching specific technical milestones. Therefore, these partnerships give the company a strong infrastructure foundation as it scales.

In parallel, Anthropic is exploring a potential IPO as early as October 2026, which would rank among the largest technology listings in history. Thus, the current funding effort not only fuels near-term operations but also positions the company strategically ahead of a public market debut.
