ADNOC Gas Partners with AIQ, Gecko to Advance AI Robotics

ADNOC fuel station with vehicle refueling

ADNOC Gas has signed a multi-year agreement with AIQ and Gecko Robotics to deploy robotics and AI across its facilities. Furthermore, Gecko presented the first UAE-manufactured robot at an Abu Dhabi event to mark the collaboration. The partnership combines Gecko’s inspection robots with AIQ’s model-deployment capabilities to transform asset inspection and maintenance. Moreover, the unified approach aims to digitize inspection workflows and improve decision-making.

Technology, Savings, and Operational Benefits

The Cantilever platform will integrate robotic inspection data with operational systems and analytics. Consequently, engineers will be able to visualize asset health and query performance using natural-language AI. The Inspection AI platform is expected to generate over $300 million in maintenance and inspection cost savings over five years. Additionally, predictive maintenance will reduce shutdowns, extend asset lifespan, and improve operational efficiency. Gecko is also exploring local robotics manufacturing in the UAE, reflecting anticipated demand across the ADNOC Group.

Deployment Plan and Broader Impact

Under the three-year program, Gecko will lead AI integration and predictive analytics while AIQ will extend outputs across ADNOC’s ecosystem. Initially, Year 1 focuses on joint deployment and data modeling, followed by scaled platform access and continuous AI optimization in subsequent years. Therefore, the program aims to reduce unplanned outages, strengthen safety, and improve overall integrity performance. Finally, the initiative positions ADNOC Gas to accelerate digital transformation across critical energy assets.
