Adnoc Distribution Launches The World’s Sixth-Largest EV Charging Hub

Superfast EV charging hub UAE

A new superfast electric vehicle charging hub has been launched, ranking as the world’s sixth-largest facility of its kind. As a result, a clear roadmap now targets full electrification of the national highway network by the end of 2027. The announcement comes just before Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, while global leaders gather to discuss sustainable energy and infrastructure. Moreover, the development highlights a broader commitment to advancing smarter energy solutions through innovation and long-term planning.

Strategically, the hub is located at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Notably, it features 60 high-speed charging points capable of charging most electric vehicles from 0 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes. Consequently, the site stands as the largest superfast charging location in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, while also ranking sixth worldwide. At the same time, it represents a core pillar of a wider plan to expand charging infrastructure across major highways.

Roadmap for long-distance EV travel

Under the current plan, 20 highway charging hubs are scheduled to open by the end of 2027. Importantly, 15 of these are expected to be operational by the end of 2026, ensuring coverage across all core national highways. As a result, long-distance electric vehicle travel becomes more practical and reliable. Furthermore, this expanding network plays a critical role in enabling seamless intercity mobility and supporting the shift toward more sustainable transport systems.

By extending high-speed charging access along key corridors, the initiative directly supports reduced energy consumption in the transport sector. In addition, it strengthens the foundation for a growing electric vehicle market. Therefore, drivers gain greater confidence when planning longer journeys, knowing that reliable charging options are available along primary routes.

Redefining the commuter experience

Building on the launch of The Hub by ADNOC concept last November, the new megahub introduces the first location designed specifically for commuters. Compared with traditional service stations, the site covers a footprint three times larger. As a result, it integrates fuel services, electric vehicle charging, and food and lifestyle offerings into a single destination where convenience meets experience.

In addition, the E11 megahub is the first to include a dedicated coworking space. This feature allows travelers to work or connect comfortably while moving between the country’s two largest cities. Meanwhile, continued investment in emerging mobility solutions ensures the network can expand in line with future demand. With more than 560 locations nationwide, the existing infrastructure supports efficient and sustainable scaling aligned with national electrification goals.
